About

The Museum of Science Summer Youth Internship Program is a 7-week summer internship in Boston for high school students aged 14 to 19. Interns work on projects within a specific museum department. They also attend weekly professional development workshops. The program's goal is to give teens real work experience and skills they can carry into school and future jobs. Course credit is possible when the student's school allows it, but the student handles the paperwork and any credit fees. The museum does not provide housing or help with relocation. Interns get free parking in the museum garage, free admission to the exhibit halls and theater shows, and discounts in the museum store and cafe.

Requirements

Open to students who are actively enrolled in high school or an equivalent program and are between 14 and 19 years old. International students can apply if they do not need visa sponsorship. Applications go through the museum's online internship job board. Summer positions are usually posted around February or March, and each posting lists its own deadline. Students can apply to more than one internship as long as they meet each one's requirements.
