About

The City Summer Internship (CSI) from Apprentice Learning is a paid summer career exploration program for Boston girls who are about to start ninth grade. Interns spend the summer learning about careers in Boston's downtown business neighborhoods, with a focus on fields where women are underrepresented. The program combines weekly professional skills workshops, hands-on career exploration, networking with professionals from many fields, and guided excursions around the city. The 2025 program ran from July 7 to August 8, 2025, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Interns earn a weekly stipend based on attendance, punctuality and finishing weekly assignments.

Requirements

Applicants must be Boston girls entering ninth grade in the fall, and 2025 applicants had to be 14 years old by the first day. Preference goes to current eighth graders at Apprentice Learning's partner schools, including Dearborn STEM Academy, TechBoston Academy, Brighton High School and Holland Tech. Interns must attend every day. Students apply through an online form linked from Apprentice Learning's programs page, which asks for basic contact details and a Boston Public Schools student ID number.
