About

CS@SC Summer Camps are computer science camps run by the USC Viterbi K-12 STEM Center at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, including high school students. Classes for grades 6 to 12 cover Python, Java and web development at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, along with Arduino robotics in C++, AI with Zumi robots, drones, cybersecurity, game design with Unity, mobile app development and Minecraft Education with Python. In-person classes run for one week on the USC campus, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, and include lunch. Virtual classes meet on Zoom for 90 minutes each weekday over two weeks. Each class has one instructor for every six to ten students, and the camps hold an annual coding fair. The 2026 camps ran July 6 to July 31 and cost $600 per in-person class or $200 per virtual class, with limited need-based scholarships.

Requirements

The camps are open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, and classes for middle and high school students are offered for grades 6 to 12. No prerequisites are listed. Families register for individual classes online through a parent account. Limited need-based scholarships are available and not guaranteed; the 2026 scholarship deadline was May 13, 2026, and families are asked to wait for scholarship decisions before paying.
