About

The NOAA Fisheries Woods Hole Science Aquarium summer high school internship is not accepting applicants at this time. NOAA Fisheries lists its aquarium intern and volunteer opportunities as closed to new participants. The aquarium itself is closed for repairs through early 2027. Staff are repairing the basement foundation, rebuilding seawater systems, and renovating exhibits before it reopens. The Woods Hole Science Aquarium is run by NOAA Fisheries in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. Founded in 1875, it is the oldest public marine aquarium in the United States. It displays about 100 species of marine animals from Northeast and Mid-Atlantic waters, and admission is free. Students interested in marine science can check back with NOAA Fisheries after the aquarium reopens to see whether intern positions are offered again.
