About
The Museum of Jewish Heritage High School Apprenticeship Program is a paid museum internship for New York City public high school students. It is run by the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. Apprentices get a behind-the-scenes view of how a museum works while exploring Jewish heritage and their own backgrounds. The program begins with an extensive training period in the spring. In the summer, apprentices work onsite part-time, four days a week, Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM. During that time they work in different museum departments. They learn about the curatorial, educational, administrative, and operational sides of the museum. Apprentices are paid for taking part. Students with questions can contact the museum's Education Department by email.
Requirements
Open to New York City public high school students, and the museum says students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Apprentices must complete the spring training before the summer work period. Apply through the museum's online application form.
