About

The Mount Sinai Veterinary Sciences Track is a summer internship for New York City high school juniors and seniors who want to explore animal medicine in a research setting. It is one track of the Internship Placement Program run by the Center for Excellence in Youth Education (CEYE) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The track is offered in partnership with Mount Sinai's Center of Comparative Medicine and Surgery. Students are introduced to Laboratory Animal Medicine, the field that cares for animals used in biomedical research. Interns gain hands-on experience with clinical cases under the guidance of a mentor from the health system. The program takes place in person in Manhattan and is highly competitive.

Requirements

Open to New York City high school students who are current juniors or seniors and have a strong interest in STEM. Summer programs are open to all NYC high school students who apply during the application window. Mount Sinai plans to release information about Summer 2027 in December 2026, so students should check back then for dates and the deadline.
