About

The Medical and Scientific Exploration Program (MSEP) is a hybrid summer program from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for New York City high school students curious about science and medicine. It is one of two open-enrollment summer programs offered through the school's CEYE youth programs. In MSEP, students learn from leaders of a range of research laboratories and clinical departments across the Mount Sinai Health System. Each department shows how the science of its field is used in real medical and research work. Most of this teaching happens online, and students also attend scheduled in-person sessions at least once a week.

Requirements

Any high school student in New York City may apply during the official application window. Mount Sinai says details for the summer 2027 program will be posted in December 2026, so students interested in next summer should check back then for dates and application steps.
