About

The Cultivating Neurological Success (CNS) Track at Mount Sinai is a summer clinical internship in neurology for New York City high school students. It is offered by the Center for Excellence in Youth Education (CEYE) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in partnership with the school's Department of Neurology. CNS is one of the tracks in CEYE's Internship Placement (IP) Program. The program takes place in person, and each student has a daily internship placement with a mentor from the Mount Sinai Health System. CNS participants get hands-on clinical exposure and learn about the brain and neurology sub-specialties such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and pediatric neurology. Mount Sinai describes the IP Program as highly competitive.

Requirements

It is an open-enrollment summer program, so any NYC high school student can apply during the application window, including students in Icahn student-led youth groups, children of Mount Sinai employees and students from CEYE partner organizations. Mount Sinai says information about the Summer 2027 program will be released in December 2026.
