About
The LA County Department of Public Health offers two ambassador programs: Parent and Student. These programs aim to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other emerging viruses by training community members to become ambassadors for public health. The virtual training sessions, which are offered in both English and Spanish, cover topics such as COVID-19 and emergent virus prevention and mitigation, mental health and self-care support, access to vaccinations, wellness clinics, virtual mindfulness applications, and youth substance abuse prevention. By becoming certified ambassadors, community members can share the knowledge and resources they've gained with their peers to promote community health and wellness.
Requirements
To be considered for the Parent and Student Public Health Ambassador Program, applicants must register for and attend a once monthly, 60-90-minute virtual training session offered in English and Spanish. The training is focused on COVID-19 and emergent virus prevention and mitigation, mental health and self-care support, and access to Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and other resources including information about and access to vaccinations, wellness clinics, virtual mindfulness applications, and youth substance abuse prevention. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a training certificate
