About

The Intern Project (TIP) is a paid internship program run by LA Promise Fund for 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students who attend schools in Los Angeles County. The TIP Summer Program is an 8-week internship that runs from June to August. Interns are placed with partner companies in fields such as arts, media and entertainment, engineering and tech, business, government and nonprofits, sports, and healthcare and medical technology. TIP matches each student's experience, interests and location to what partner companies want, and the companies' hiring teams make the final choice. Interns earn a stipend and can receive one free college credit and a work-readiness certification. Along with the job, students attend workshops on resumes, LinkedIn, cover letters, networking, case studies and public speaking. TIP also runs a Fall and Spring program during the school year.

Requirements

Students in grades 10 through 12 who attend school in Los Angeles County may apply, and GPA does not affect whether an application is considered. TIP looks for students who are eager to learn and can commit to every meeting. After submitting an online application, chosen students are invited to schedule an interview. The Summer 2027 application opens in January 2027.
