About

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Workplace Mentoring Program is a free career mentoring program run by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County for high school and college students in Orange County, California. Students are paired with corporate professionals who offer guidance and an inside look at working life. The program aims to support students from marginalized backgrounds as they move from school toward a career. Mentoring takes place in monthly group sessions, held either online or in person at partner company offices. Participants learn about different industries, roles and workplace cultures. They also practice skills such as communication, leadership and setting goals. Each cohort lasts six months. The organization says its programs are free for families.

Requirements

To be eligible, a student must live in Orange County and attend a participating high school or college. Students must commit to attending the monthly group sessions for the 6-month cohort. High school students apply through an enrollment form on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County website.
