About
San Francisco High School Internships are paid opportunities offered by the City and County of San Francisco for teens interested in working in local government. The City's internships page gathers several options for high school students in one place. Project Pull, run through the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, places high school students in paid summer internships inside City departments. Project Pull interns gain hands-on work experience while exploring careers in STEAM and public service, and the program also includes weekly enrichment activities that build skills such as leadership and teamwork. SF Youth Works offers paid internships with City departments such as the Public Utilities Commission, the Public Library, and San Francisco International Airport. Opportunities for All (OFA) provides paid internships, mentorship, and training. Students can also apply to the Workreation Youth Employment Program with San Francisco Recreation and Parks. The Teen Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) internship focuses on leadership, community service, and nutrition skills.
Requirements
Project Pull interns must be a current high school sophomore, junior, or senior, live or go to high school in San Francisco, and have at least a 2.75 GPA from their last finished semester. Opportunities for All is for people ages 13 to 24 who live or attend school in San Francisco, and Workreation is open to students ages 14 to 17. Students should check each program's page for current eligibility rules and dates.
