About

The KP LAUNCH High School Program is a paid summer internship run by Kaiser Permanente for high school students who live in Northern California. It gives teens hands-on work experience in the administrative and support side of health care. The 2027 program runs for seven weeks, from June 14 to July 30, 2027. Interns work full-time, Monday through Friday, generally between 8am and 5pm. The pay is $25 per hour. Interns are placed at the Kaiser Permanente medical center or business office closest to their home. Interns do not take part in medical treatment or procedures for patients. The program is meant to introduce young people to careers in the health professions and to help them build professional and leadership skills.

Requirements

Current high school students and graduating seniors in the Class of 2027 can apply, and Class of 2026 graduates with no college experience may also be considered. Students must be ages 16 to 19 by June 1, 2027, live permanently in a Northern California Kaiser Permanente service area, and be able to prove they can legally work in the United States. Interns must be available full-time, Monday through Friday, for the full seven-week program. Applications for summer 2027 open November 16, 2026 at 9am PST and close January 8, 2027 at 5pm PST, and students apply online through the KP LAUNCH website.
