About

The Jerome Home Student Internship is an in-person health care internship in New Britain, Connecticut, for high school students age 16 and older and for college students. It is run by Jerome Home and its sister community Arbor Rose, which serve seniors. Interns learn how a senior care community works by partnering with professionals in the health care field. Focus areas include human services, social work, recreation therapy and music therapy. The organization also mentions career paths in nursing, social services, recreation, administration and dining. Each intern follows a training plan built around their own goals.

Requirements

High school students must be at least 16 years old to apply; college students are also welcome. Interns must commit to at least 60 hours over a three-month period. Apply through the application form linked on the Jerome Home volunteer page. Students with questions can contact the volunteer coordinator by phone or email. No application deadline is posted.
