Technical Stage Production Internship

The Technical Stage Production Internship is a paid summer internship at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, for New York City high school students entering their senior year. It is one of two tracks in the Apollo Theater Academy High School Internship Program. Interns train in the technical side of live performance, including lighting design, audio engineering, projection, carpentry and production design, and work on Apollo productions alongside the theater's production crew. Interns are paid $17 per hour. The 2026 program ran on weekdays from July 13 to August 21, 2026, in person at the Apollo Theater.

Open to rising seniors who live in one of New York City's five boroughs and will enter 12th grade in the fall. Interns must attend the full program, and a parent or guardian must attend an orientation. Students apply online with an essay, a transcript or report card and recommendations, followed by group interviews. The 2026 deadline was June 26, 2026.
