About

The Urban Alliance High School Internship Program (HSIP) is a paid internship for high school seniors offered by the nonprofit Urban Alliance. The internship continues through the senior year. During the school year, interns work part-time, Monday through Thursday, for up to 12 hours a week. In the summer, they work full-time, Monday through Thursday, for up to 32 hours a week. Students can earn up to 500 hours of paid work at minimum wage or higher. Placements are with employers in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Before starting work, interns complete about six weeks of job skills training. After that, they attend weekly workshops on job skills, life skills, and planning for life after high school. Each intern is paired with an Urban Alliance Internship Program Lead and a one-on-one mentor at their workplace. Urban Alliance also runs a separate workforce readiness program for rising juniors that leads into the senior-year internship.

Requirements
