About

The Senator Cory Booker High School Internship is the Summer High School Accelerated Session run by U.S. Senator Cory Booker's office for current high school students. It is the only internship session the office offers to high schoolers. The session lasts 14 consecutive business days in August. Senator Booker's internships take place in his Washington, D.C., Newark, New Jersey, and Camden, New Jersey offices. The office also runs fall, spring, and summer sessions for undergraduates and recent college graduates. Interns in the New Jersey offices support the state team with constituent work, including answering phones, handling mail and email, joining staff at community events, drafting memos, tracking constituent views on issues, and doing research. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office handle similar administrative tasks and also attend committee hearings and legislative briefings, lead U.S. Capitol tours for visiting New Jerseyans, draft policy memos and letters, and conduct research. The office cannot offer a spot to every applicant.

Requirements

Open to current high school students, and New Jersey residents receive preference. Applicants use the office's online internship portal and are asked to create a profile. Applications for the Summer 2027 session are expected in spring 2027.
