About

The Scripps Health Summer High School Exploration Program is a five-week summer internship for high school students who want to learn about careers in health care. It is run by Scripps Health, the not-for-profit health system in San Diego. Interns look at hospital jobs that affect patients directly, including pharmacy, rehabilitation, bedside care and emergency room care. They also meet Scripps Health executives to hear how those leaders built their careers, and they share what they learned through project presentations. Questions can be sent to the Scripps Health developing talent team by email.

Requirements

To be eligible, a student must either be a Scripps Health Junior volunteer or belong to the Young Leaders in Health Care (YLHC) club at their high school and attend YLHC's virtual general meetings. YLHC meets online once a month during the school year, from fall through spring, so students who want to qualify through the club should join early in the school year.
