About

The Summer Neuroscience Program (SNP) at The Rockefeller University is a free two-week neuroscience course for New York City public high school students. Rockefeller graduate students lead the course and introduce participants to current brain research and how it connects to everyday life. The program is held in person on the Rockefeller campus in Manhattan. The 2026 session ran August 10 to 21, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. There is no cost to participate, and meals, equipment and supplies are all covered. The program welcomes motivated and curious students, whatever their grades or past experience with science.

Requirements

Students must be enrolled in a New York City public school and be at least 16 years old by the first day of the program. Accepted students must commit to attending the entire program in person. To apply, students fill out an online application and ask a teacher to submit a reference form. Program directors reach out to some applicants in April to set up an interview.
