About

The Summer Academy of Actuarial and Mathematical Sciences (SAAMS) at Morgan State University is a summer enrichment program for high school students interested in actuarial science and mathematics. It is a pipeline program housed in Morgan State's Department of Mathematics in Baltimore, Maryland. Admission is competitive. Students take college-level classes in mathematics and actuarial science and learn about majors and careers in the field. The program also includes professional development sessions, Excel training, enrichment activities, and field trips. The 2027 program runs June 28 to July 23, 2027. Most of the program is held online, and the final week takes place on Morgan State's campus with room and board provided.

Requirements

Rising 11th and 12th graders can apply, as can graduating seniors who are enrolling at Morgan State as freshmen. Applicants should be interested in earning an actuarial science degree, ideally at Morgan State. To apply, students submit an online application and an official high school transcript. Applications for 2027 are open now. The priority deadline is February 28, 2027, and the general deadline is March 31, 2027.
