About

The Manhattan District Attorney's High School Internship Program (HSIP) is a paid summer internship for high school juniors and seniors who live in Manhattan and want an inside look at the criminal justice system. The program lasts five weeks. The 2026 session ran from June 29 to July 31, 2026. Interns work in person Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. During the internship, students take part in workshops and group discussions, join a mock trial program, and build professional skills in an office setting. Interns are paid minimum wage. The program is run by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, whose main office is at One Hogan Place in New York City.

Requirements

Applicants must be current high school juniors or seniors who reside in Manhattan, and interns must commit to attending the entire session. The application asks for a one-page resume and a 300-word essay explaining the student's interest in criminal justice.
