About

The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office High School Internship is a criminal justice internship for high school students who live in or attend school in Brooklyn, New York. The office runs internship cycles three times a year, in summer, winter and spring. Interns are placed in a general trial zone or in a specialized unit, such as Homicide, Special Victims, Domestic Violence, Civil Rights or Investigations. Typical work can include helping with investigations, sitting in on trials, preparing documents and financial data, doing legal research, and supporting community outreach. The summer cycle pays a small weekly stipend. In 2022, the summer internship was an in-person, four-week program that ran from July 5 to July 29, 2022. That year, interns earned $150 per week and received a MetroCard. Past winter and spring cycles were shorter, unpaid programs that also included a MetroCard. The office describes the internships as highly competitive.

Requirements
