About

The Family Service Youth Summer Internship Program is a paid summer internship in San Antonio, Texas, for students ages 14 to 17. Run by the nonprofit Family Service, it places middle and high school students in 120-hour internships with local employers. The internship lasts six to seven weeks during the summer and takes place in person. Interns who complete their hours receive a stipend paid by Family Service, not by the host employer. Host sites have included museums, libraries, nonprofits, law firms and colleges, with more than 30 employers taking part. Accepted students first attend a day of professional development training, then interview with employers at a job fair before being matched to a site. Bus passes are available for interns who need them. The program accepts only 125 applications.

Requirements

Ages 14 to 17 (for 2026: 14 by June 15 and no older than 17 through July 11).
