About
BAC Summer Academy is Boston Architectural College's summer design program for high school students curious about architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and related fields. Working alongside design professionals and peers in small studios with a dedicated studio lead, students take on hands-on challenges in ideation, sketching, drawing, digital design, digital fabrication, model making and presentation. The program ends with a pin-up where students share posters, models and digital portfolios. The 2026 session ran from July 6 to July 31 in two formats. Summer Academy - Boston met in person at the college's Back Bay campus as a half-day, non-residential program, Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., with studios of 8 to 10 students and site visits. Summer Academy - Global ran live on Zoom on weekday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern, with lectures, individual feedback from practicing designers, workshops and virtual site visits; online students received a mailed kit of materials and tools. For 2026, tuition for either format was $2,000 for the credit-bearing option, which earns three college credits, or $1,800 not for credit. Scholarships were offered through the college's Pre-College Design Access Fund, and all Summer Academy graduates are eligible for a $2,000 scholarship toward BAC undergraduate programs.
Requirements
Open to students in grades 9-12 who are at least 14 years old; no design experience required. Register online; choose a credit-bearing (3 college credits) or non-credit option. Non-residential, so students must arrange their own housing.
