About

The SeA Bilingual STEM Camp (SeA @ Berkeley Lab) is a free spring break camp for Spanish-English bilingual high school students who want to explore science, technology, engineering and math careers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. It is run by Berkeley Lab's Academic Learning Internship and Faculty Training Office (A-LIFT). The 2026 camp ran April 8 to April 11, 2026. It used a hybrid format: a short online session on the first evening, followed by three in-person days at Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley. Activities include tours of lab facilities, career talks with scientists, and hands-on workshops, all offered in both English and Spanish. The camp is free, and meals and materials are provided. Lab staff pick students up in downtown Berkeley each in-person day. The 2026 cohort was capped at 30 students. Taking part can also be a step toward a summer internship at Berkeley Lab.

Requirements

Open to Spanish-English bilingual high school students in grades 9 through 12 who are interested in STEM; 10th and 11th graders are especially encouraged. Students must attend all camp days and need to reach the downtown Berkeley pickup point on their own, for example by BART or AC Transit. Apply online by creating a Kaleidoscope account.
