About

Artists For Humanity (AFH) Teen Jobs, also known as the Youth Arts Enterprise, is a paid after-school and summer art job for high school students in Boston. Teens work in mentored studios alongside professional artists and designers, creating work for real AFH clients. Studios include painting, graphic design, photography, 3D design, creative technology, animation, and video production. AFH also runs a Brooklyn location for teens enrolled in high school, with fewer studios. Boston teens work Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. during the school year and Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. in summer. New hires first complete 36 unpaid Foundation Studio hours, which count as community service, before starting paid studio work. Hiring pauses through December 2026.

Requirements

No artistic experience is needed. Boston applicants must attend a Boston Public School or live in Boston, and Brooklyn applicants must be enrolled in high school. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. To apply, students fill out an online job application, interview with the Teen Interview Team, and complete onboarding. Applications are accepted on a rolling, monthly basis; applications sent during the hiring pause are considered for the January 2027 cohort.
