About

The AIMI Summer Health AI Bootcamp is a summer program from the Stanford Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging (AIMI) that gives high school students an introduction to artificial intelligence in health and medicine. The bootcamp is open to students of all technical backgrounds. Participants learn core machine learning ideas and see how they apply to real healthcare problems. Learning happens through structured lessons and collaborative work with other students. AIMI also runs a separate Summer Research Internship for high school students who want hands-on, mentored research. AIMI is hosting a free online information session on November 10, 2026, from 5 to 6 PM Pacific Time. The session covers program structure, the student experience, and how to apply, and both students and parents are welcome to attend. Questions about the bootcamp can be sent to the AIMI high school programs staff by email.

Requirements

Applicants must reside in the United States for the full duration of the program, attend a U.S. high school (entering Grades 9–12 in Fall 2026), and be at least 14 years old by the start of the program. For the Summer 2027 program, applications open on November 10, 2026, and the application deadline is February 1, 2027.
