About

The NJCCIC High School Internship Program is a virtual cybersecurity internship program run by the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) for New Jersey high school students in grades 9 through 12. Interns meet online as a team, with tracks for different levels of experience. In 2026 the Cybersecurity Basics track met for one week, August 3 to 7, in either a morning session (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or an afternoon session (2 to 6 p.m.). The Advanced track, for students with prior cybersecurity experience who want to explore cybersecurity research, met Mondays from July 20 into October. The Elite Advanced track, for students who completed the Advanced program, ran on the same dates. Interns must attend every session.

Requirements

Applicants must be New Jersey high school students in grades 9 through 12 at the time of registration with an interest in cybersecurity, and each may apply to only one session. Advanced track applicants must show cybersecurity experience or participation in a prior NJCCIC internship or event, and the Elite Advanced track is for students who completed the Advanced program. Accepted students provide a letter of support from a parent, guardian, mentor or teacher. The 2026 application deadline was 4 p.m. on April 15, 2026, and acceptance emails were sent by May 15.
