About
PSY 166 General Psychology is a three-credit college course that Lehman College offers in the Bronx, New York, to high school students through College Now, a free dual enrollment program run by the City University of New York (CUNY) with New York City public high schools. The course introduces the fundamental concepts and methods of modern psychology and is taught by Lehman College faculty. College Now courses are free, and the credits can transfer to most colleges and universities. College Now classes are offered in person on the Lehman campus, hybrid or online. The fall 2026 term ran from early September to mid-December, with Saturday, Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday sections. Students taking classes on campus receive a Lehman College student ID with access to the library and IT Center. Students who complete two Lehman classes with a B or better are guaranteed admission to Lehman College with a $500 scholarship.
Requirements
Open to New York City public high school students and registered homeschool students, mainly juniors and seniors, with some courses open to sophomores. Students need an overall high school average of 80 or higher, and a score of 75 or higher on the English Language Arts Regents and 70 or higher on a math Regents exam are recommended. To take PSY 166, students must first complete ENG 111 English Composition I or get approval from the College Now program. Lehman says information on the Spring 2027 program will be posted by November 2026.
