About
DPR Construction's Build Up High School Internship is a paid summer internship in construction management for rising high school juniors and seniors from lower-income families. Interns spend 8 weeks working 35 to 40 hours per week on an active DPR jobsite. The program is in person, and DPR has construction projects in many parts of the country. Applications are matched to the jobsite closest to the address the student provides. Working with a team of mentors, interns help with subcontractor coordination, document control, quality inspections, safety training, and schedule updates. Each intern also completes an 8-week capstone project built around personal goals. Mentors include professionals in construction, engineering, and architecture. Interns earn an hourly wage paid weekly, and transportation stipends are available.
Requirements
Open to rising high school juniors, rising seniors, and May 2027 graduates whose family income is below 80% of the HUD Median Family Income for their county. Applicants must be legally allowed to work in the United States, show an interest in the built environment, commit to all 8 weeks, and commute to the jobsite every day. DPR says details for the 2027 program, including the application deadline, will be posted in early 2027.
