About

The Delaware Academy of Medicine and Public Health High School Internship is a virtual public health internship for Delaware high school students in grades 10 through 12. The internship is fully online, and the coordinator works with each student to fit the schedule around school and other commitments. The Academy runs three cohorts each year: fall (September to December), spring (January to April), and summer (May to August). Interns build core public health skills. They learn to describe a public health problem, find and cite data sources, and spot gaps in the information. They also analyze qualitative and quantitative data, build a logic model for planning and evaluating a program, and present their findings in writing. Students with questions can email the Academy's internship coordinator.

Requirements

Open to Delaware residents currently enrolled in a Delaware high school in grades 10-12. Before starting, each student meets with the internship coordinator to go over the position, expectations, and deliverables. Applications for the spring 2027 cohort open November 1, and applications for the summer 2027 cohort open March 1.
