About

The Dartmouth Health High School Foundations Summer Internship Program is a paid summer healthcare internship for high school students who are about to start their junior or senior year and live near Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. Interns do paid work at the hospital and also get professional development, mentoring and hands-on learning. Over the summer, each intern works in two or three different hospital departments. Past host departments include perioperative services, the medical laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, supply chain and the blood donor clinic. Interns also join a cohort for workshops, mentoring and networking. The 2026 program ran full time, 30 to 40 hours a week, from June 22 to August 7. Interns attend Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH every week and arrange their own housing and transportation.
