Volunteer in The Giving Factory

Volunteer in The Giving Factory is a hands-on volunteer opportunity at Cradles to Crayons in Massachusetts, open to volunteers ages 5 and older, including high school students. Cradles to Crayons is a nonprofit working to end clothing insecurity for children. Volunteers handle new and gently used clothing donations, checking their quality, sorting them, and packing them for local kids. The work is organized into stations that turn donations into orders for specific children, who receive them through the group's Service Partners. A Volunteer Leader guides each shift and stays with volunteers the whole time. Shifts run Wednesday through Saturday, usually from 10 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and large groups may request Tuesday morning shifts. Volunteers can come alone, with family, or with a school or community group. The organization's Boston office is at 281 Newtonville Avenue in Newtonville.

Open to volunteers ages 5 and older; volunteers under 18 must have an adult with them for the entire shift. Everyone must pre-register for a specific shift through the online Volunteer Portal and check in 15 minutes before the shift starts. Volunteers are encouraged to bring at least one children's clothing item to donate, though this is optional.
