About
The Cleveland Clinic High School Summer Internship, officially the CYCE High School Summer Internship Program, is a paid summer job program in Northeast Ohio for high school students interested in healthcare careers. It is run by Cleveland Clinic's Center for Youth and College Education (CYCE). Interns choose from three tracks. The clinical track covers patient-facing areas such as nursing, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory medicine and physician work. The non-clinical track, known as Louis Stokes, covers the business side of healthcare, including finance, human resources, marketing, education and administration. The advanced technology track covers areas such as artificial intelligence, coding, data science and information technology. The program currently lasts seven weeks. Interns work 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pay is $15 per hour, including orientation. Placements can be at the main campus, regional hospitals, family health centers or administrative sites.
Requirements
Students must be in grades 9-12 at time of application and at least 15 years old by June 1, 2027. They must live and attend school in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark or Summit County, Ohio; non-clinical (Louis Stokes) track applicants must also live in one of the listed cities (e.g., Cleveland, Euclid, East Cleveland). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, noncitizen national or permanent resident, and a 2.5 GPA is preferred. Interns must attend the full 7-week program. Apply online when the 2027 application opens in January 2027; an interest form is available to be notified.
