About

The High School Summer Immersion Program is a one-month summer program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, for graduating high school seniors from the Cincinnati area. Cincinnati Children's is launching this newly designed program in summer 2027, replacing its earlier high school summer internship. Participants take part in an intensive month of hands-on learning and professional development alongside Cincinnati Children's specialists. Photos from the 2025 cohort show interns training with a medical simulator, completing team tasks, attending class and presenting at a final event. The hospital has said that more details about the 2027 program, including dates and schedule, will be shared in the coming months.

Requirements

The program is open to graduating high school seniors from the Cincinnati area. Students apply through a required online application, which opens November 1 and closes February 1.
