About
The Wheaton College Summer Institute (WCSI) is a two-week residential pre-college program at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. It is a Christian program that combines college-level coursework with campus life and faith activities. The 2027 session is scheduled for June 13 to June 26, 2027. Each student takes one college-level course taught by Wheaton faculty or expert teachers, chosen from more than 15 course options, and earns 2 college credits on successful completion. All students live in a campus residence hall, and commuting is not an option. The program also includes meals, excursions to Chicago, and guidance on applying to college. The total cost listed on the program's cost page is $2,500, and a lower early bird price of $2,200 was offered for the 2026 session. A limited number of partial need-based scholarships are available.
Requirements
Open to current high school students who will be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors; graduated seniors are not eligible. Requires a strong academic record. Homeschool and international students may apply; non-English-medium international students must show English proficiency. Submit an online application, a high school transcript, and an academic recommendation; rising sophomores submit a more detailed recommendation letter. Applications for the 2027 session open on December 1, 2026. Students are admitted on a rolling basis until courses fill, so applying early improves the chance of getting a first-choice course.
