About
The Women Empowered Through Business (WEB) Institute is a six-day summer program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Haslam College of Business for rising high school juniors who are interested in technology and business. The 2027 session runs July 11 to July 16, 2027, on the Knoxville campus. Students take workshops on coding, computer technology, entrepreneurship, personal branding, supply chain management, business analytics and professional development. University faculty and staff lead the sessions, and students also hear from women working in technology and business. College readiness sessions cover topics such as ACT prep, college classes, campus life and applying to college. Participants network with corporate professionals and with undergraduate women studying business and technology, and they take part in team-building and leadership activities.
Requirements
Open to rising high school juniors interested in technology and business; the program is designed for talented female high school students. Everyone accepted must commit to attending all six days in person in Knoxville. To apply, students create a Go Vols Portal account and choose the Haslam Pre-Collegiate Programs Application. The 2027 application opens December 16, 2026, and the deadline to apply is March 31, 2027. A committee reviews applications in early April, and acceptance notices are emailed between April 12 and April 16, 2027.
