About

The Tisch Spring Future Artists Program at NYU is a free pre-college arts program for high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. It is run by New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. The program is aimed at students who may lack access to arts programs in their schools or communities and who would qualify for financial aid at NYU. Students apply to one track: dance, dramatic writing, filmmaking, game design, image making, music business, or theatre. Classes are taught by faculty from Tisch undergraduate departments. The 2027 program runs for 14 weeks on Saturdays, from January 30 to May 8, 2027. Class times fall between 9 AM and 6 PM and vary by department.

Requirements

Open to current high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors; seniors cannot apply. There is no minimum GPA, and students may not reapply to a track they have already completed. Students must attend all 14 Saturday sessions, and missing class can lead to dismissal. The application includes an online form, two written responses (one common, one track-specific), a creative resume, a PDF transcript, and one recommendation; some applicants are asked to audition or send more materials. An English proficiency test is required for non-native speakers unless exempt. The spring 2027 application deadline is November 9, 2026.
