About
The Hawaiʻi Pacific Health Health Careers Summer Internship Program is a paid summer internship in Hawaiʻi for high school juniors and seniors, as well as college students, who want to explore careers in healthcare. The internship lasts six weeks. Interns are placed at Hawaiʻi Pacific Health and its network of medical centers, which includes Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center, Straub Benioff Medical Center, Wilcox Medical Center, and Kauaʻi Medical Clinic. Because placements happen on site at these hospitals and clinics, the program is in person. During the summer, students learn how hospital systems work, meet experienced healthcare professionals, and get a closer look at many different healthcare professions. The program has been running since 2004, and more than 900 students have taken part. The 2026 program ran June 15 to July 23, 2026 on Oʻahu and June 15 to July 24, 2026 on Kauaʻi. Interns are paid for their work. Students with questions can contact the Hawaiʻi Pacific Health Human Resources department.
Requirements
Open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as college students. Interns must be able to work in person at a Hawaiʻi Pacific Health medical center on Oʻahu or Kauaʻi for the six-week summer program.
