About

The Futures and Options Internship Program is a paid, mentored internship program run by Futures and Options in New York, New York, for high school juniors and seniors who attend New York City high schools. Interns gain hands-on work experience at small businesses, nonprofits, government agencies and multinational corporations while building professional connections and networks. Alongside their internship hours, students attend two required orientations and a series of career readiness workshops on communication, interviewing, financial literacy, resume writing and other skills. All interns join career exploration field trips with employer partners. A program coordinator mentors and coaches each intern and meets with the intern and their supervisor. Accepted students are matched individually to internship sites based on their abilities, goals and interests and get help preparing for site interviews, though not every accepted student is matched or hired.

Requirements

Juniors and seniors attending a New York City high school can apply. The online application includes a series of short answer questions and a resume. Selected applicants interview with a member of the Futures and Options team before admission, and accepted students then interview with internship sites.
