About

The CIS Summer Legal Internship Program is a paid summer internship for high school juniors and seniors run by Communities In Schools (CIS) of Houston in partnership with the Houston Bar Association. Interns spend eight weeks working at Houston-area law firms, corporate legal departments, and public interest agencies. All CIS of Houston internships are paid, and the organization notes that many students use their earnings to help their families or save for college. Like the other CIS summer internships, it is designed to build job readiness, career preparation, life and leadership skills, and comfort in a professional workplace. The internship takes place in person in the Houston area.

Requirements

The program is open only to high school juniors and seniors who attend a campus supported by Communities In Schools of Houston. Students at CIS-supported schools should ask their campus CIS staff how and when to apply.
