About

The Camp Hidden Meadows Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is a two-week leadership program at a sleepaway camp in West Virginia for high school students finishing 10th grade. It is built for students who want to build leadership skills while still enjoying camp in a small group. CITs help run activities across the camp's Traditional Camp program. They also get introductory training in belaying, the ropes course, lifeguarding, group management and team building. Free time to enjoy favorite camp activities is part of the schedule. The program runs in person at Camp Hidden Meadows in Bartow, West Virginia. For summer 2027, the camp offers four CIT sessions: June 20 to July 3, July 4 to July 17, July 18 to July 31, and August 1 to August 14. Tuition for 2027 is $4,150, or $4,050 plus tax for families who enroll by January 8. Financial aid is available through a short application with no income threshold, with awards covering 10 to 90 percent of tuition. Sibling, military and referral discounts are also offered.

Requirements

Open to students finishing 10th grade (rising juniors). Families enroll online through the camp, and enrolling requires a $500 deposit per week to hold a spot. Families can contact the camp office with questions about the CIT program.
